Service, Interest and Study Groups at Lord of Life

Below is a listing describing the various groups and activities associated with the Lord of Life Congregation which meet with some regularity. One an all are invited to join in with a group that may be of interest. Simply contact the contact person named (phone numbers are listed in the church directory). Be sure to also check the MAST calendar for other events.

Sunday Lesson's Coffee:
We meet at church from 6:30- 7:30 AM on Thursdays to discuss the bible lessons that will be read during the upcoming Sunday worship. We look for themes and applications that often work their way into Pastor's sermons.
Wednesday Morning Bible study:
Pastor's bible study - we are studying the various reformations and tensions in the church from the book of Acts to the present day from 10:00 - 11:00 AM (Contact Marty Luoma)
Esther Circle:
We meet as a women's circle on the second Monday of every month from 7:00 PM to 8:30 PM. We are currently studying the bible guided by Beth Moore's book on St. Paul.

Mary Martha Circle:
We meet as a women's circle on the first Thursday of every month from Noon until 1:30 PM. We are discussing Kelly Fryer's book. No Experience Necessary.

Let Us Pray:
We gather in the sanctuary every Wednesday evening from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM to lift up prayer concerns of the congregation and others.

PACE:
Low impact exercises for those suffering from "stiff joints" led by an experienced RN. We exercise from 10:30 AM until Noon Monday, Tuesday & Thursday mornings in the fellowship hall.

Choir:
From 6- 7 PM we practice making a "joyful noise." No professional vocalists have joined us. Just a group of folks who like to sing.

Manna House:
We prepare, serve and clean up at the Manna House the second Thursday of every month. Preparation begins at approximately 9:30 AM. But, volunteers come when they can and stay until they must leave.

Green Thumb:
We meet to plan and plant the greenery and gardens around the church. Gatherings are "as needed."

Stitchery Group
Labors of Love Stitchery Group meets the third Saturday of each month at noon. We are both an outreach and “in-reach” ministry and our primary function is to make blankets, quilts, prayer shawls, hats and other items for members, the children who stay at Amity House, and other organizations as needs arise. Bring a sack lunch, dessert, beverages, and fellowship provided. Contact Chris Elbert or Renée Balka for more information.

Youth Group:
We (Senior and Junior High) meet for a variety of activities on an as-scheduled basis.

Book Club:
On the third Thursday of each month, we meet at a member's home from 7 PM to 8:30 PM to discuss a portion of a book (currently Legends, Demons, and Dreams, A Collection of Stories Straight from the Soul  by Bobby Dews, for sports & nonsports enthusiasts alike) we have read over a cup of coffee or cider.

Men's Breakfast:
On the last Saturday of every month, we meet at 8 AM as a men's group for breakfast and conversation in Fellowship Hall.

Friday Night at the Movies:
Each month we gather on a Friday night at 7:00 PM to watch a popular movie together with popcorn and soft-drinks. Watch for dates and movie titles in the announcement section of the worship bulletin.

Girls Night Out:
With "unscheduled regularity" we women gather for some activity that is usually followed by dinner at some local eatery that seems to welcome raucous laughter and conversation.
