Administrative Assistant
The Administrative Assistant is a critical component of the Lord of Life (LoL) mission on St Simons Island, helping LoL be a warm and friendly part of the community. The Assistant regularly interacts with visitors and members through phone, email and personal visits.
A key requirement for this is the maintenance of confidentiality. The Assistant will frequently become aware of specific member concerns and be aware of persons who meet with the Pastor. The Assistant is required to keep all Church issues and visitors in strict confidence unless and until the confidentiality requirement is waived by the Pastor.
Position Reports to: Pastor and Council President
Position Requirements:
*Warm and engaging personality with good oral communication skills.
*Computer competence, specifically with Microsoft Office products
*Able to help the Pastor and Council President manage issues that arise unexpectedly, such as members who become ill or deaths within the Congregation.
Duties:
*Greet visitors and members during office hours
*Answer phone and check voice mail, recording notes for Pastor and Council members.
*Prepare and print weekly and special service bulletins.
*Prepare and issue (weekly) "Friday Reminders" and "Mast" (monthly newsletter) via email.
*Respond to all emails addressed to the Administrative Assistant
*Maintain Church membership roster and update Church directory as needed
*Print reports at the request of Council members.
*Maintain computer and associated software.
*Maintain office files.
All other duties as assigned by the Pastor and/or Council President
Work Hours: Monday, Wednesday and Friday 9:00 AM to 12 noon (note: specific work days are negotiable)
Salary: $190/week
Paid Time off: Six federal holidays and one week of vacation annually
Performance reviews: Annually, conducted by the Mutual Ministry Committee.
